Poetry: Should You Offer Me Silver

and this, eddin khoo…could not have come from fecal matter/ feces personified…how dare you… to give the greatest insult… din, wala naman aamin na it’s not real…na wala naman akong nasaktan, salamat nalang sa kung halimbawa wa nga na ayaw mo lang na maki-sayaw ako sa mga lobo…sana hindi ka mag-bago…wala naman ito eh.alam mo. sinubukan lang  kung isa akong tanga, gaga, o engot. engot lang ako, at mahal na mahal kita. pacencia kana kung natatakotakona sasabayka sa Iglesia ni Kristo na Literatures  of the Philippines na iyon. virtualinsanity at celluloid subukan lang  ito…sana nasa mabuti kang kalagayan, hindiko kasi alam kung nasaan ka. pero, mahalkita, kahit green archerka pa,kahit hindi pa kita makita ulit..basta huwag ka lang mamamatay ng una sa akin,ok ?hindi ako nagui-guilty…ala mo naman na hindiako ako salbahe. engotlang en engot lang. at mahal na kita noon pa, kahit hindi ko alam na nakilaro ka doon sa mga taga -2004. kapag nauna akong pumanaw sa iyo, huwag kang mag-alala..makakapag-dinner date rin tayo sa langit, kasi you stood me up noon eh. pero ok lang. wala naman yun sa akin eh. basta ikaw. wala ito. alam ko. hindi ka katulad ng mga iyon. at kahit katulad ka pa, kung blank check lang ang katapat ko, ibibigay ko ang gusto mo. pero, pa-insure muna ng mga body parts ko. mahal kita, at alam kong selective lang at iilan lang ang nagbabasa nito dahil laro nga ang buhay ko, linaro. ikaw lang ang hindi ko kayang kagalitan.

Should you offer me silver
by francess raymundo

Offer me silver,
silver I shall not take.
Offer me gold,
gold I will not take.
Offer me diamonds,
I will not take many.
I shall take none.
But pearls, what of pearls?
Should you offer me pearls,
pearls I shall take, if in each pearl
your heart’s encased.

Silver is steel like bars
and love, with silver,is love imprisoned.
Gold is too much.
Love ablaze is love too hot.
Which is why, I think, gold’s too much.
Diamonds will invite
many unwelcome guests.
With diamonds ,love turns the unwilling host and unwilling hostess.

But pearls, what of pearls?
Should you offer me pearls,
your love is richer than the earth.
Sea is more and more I see in pearls.
Precious stones from the moon,
little drops of moon
nutty moonlight, small bolts of moonlight
moon peas and beans of moon.
Love, with pearls, is love:
many, aplenty, and grand.

Forget silver, forget gold, forget diamonds.
Offer me pearls. And what of pearls?
With pearls, love is love when love
offers moonlight that I can hold.
